Painted Sideboard From Qinghai Province - 19th Century Origin - Laos 101 x 3 x 117This sideboard is from Qinghai province in North Western China on the border with Mongolia & has original painting. The painting on this is incredibly detailed, and features two town scenes with trees as well as a collection of 'wise objects'. This has a clear influence from Mongolia, however, the painting is more indicative of the Chinese style. Mongolian & Qinghai sideboards were usually made from locally sourced wood, normally elm, poplar or pine.
